Women are there for each other. We’ll drop what we’re doing and race across town if a girlfriend calls in crisis. We’ll step into her shoes any day, swooping up the kids or feeding the cat, if she asks.

Women get together for coffee and in book clubs. We volunteer for PTO. Together we run the day to day workings of organizations of every sort. But we often run ourselves dry doing everything that has to be done of everyone else. Our resources get depleted, and we forget who we are and why we’re here.

What’s true is that we are creators. Of babies yes, but of art and beauty and design and connections that make life meaningful. When we ignore our basic creativity, when we overwork our intrinsic need to originate from the wealth of our interior lives, we risk depression. Our lives lose meaning and we find ourselves without the spark that lights the world.

Claiming Our Voices seeks to support women of all ages as they nurture what makes them feel most alive. Three segments of the organization currently sustain women’s creative voices.

Gathering With Spirit — open monthly evening gatherings designed to foster deep listening and authentic expression.

Walking Our Talk — bi-weekly smaller committed groups of women working together to support individual vision and specific goals.

Get a Life – Creative Expression for Younger Adolescent Girls
